This week’s travel photo celebrates love.
I clicked this photo at Loggia della Signoria on my first night in Florence. I was walking around the Piazza della Signoria admiring the Roman art while a heart-shaped spotlight illuminated the famous Roman sculpture of “Menelaus supporting the body of Patroclus.”
As I stood there marveling at the genius of great artists and feeling fortunate for getting a chance to see some of the greatest art, a couple embraced each other. And suddenly everything else seemed feeble in comparison. That pretty much says a lot about love – there is nothing that delights and glorifies much like love.
Last week, this photo was exhibited at Nicefoto: An International Celebration of Amateur Photography. It was nice to see it up there amongst the best pictures selected from around the world. This is the second time that my work got exhibited – the last being Joie de Vivre.
